Dr. David Scheider was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois. He attended Valparaiso University for his premedical studies and received his medical degree from Southern Illinois University. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Northwestern University and finished his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Missouri. Following his gastroenterology training, Dr. Scheider completed additional advanced fellowships in Endoscopic Oncology, Photodynamic Therapy, and Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy at Wellesley Hospital of the University of Toronto. His areas of special interest are therapeutic biliary and pancreatic endoscopy and photodynamic therapy.
