Matthew Nichols, M.D.

Dr. Matthew Nichols was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas. After obtaining his undergraduate degree at Rice University in Houston, Texas, he went on to receive his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he graduated with honors and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. He then completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. After conducting a year of hepatology research, Dr. Nichols continued his training as a Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellow at the University of Colorado, where he served as Chief Fellow in 2006. His areas of special interest include the management of liver and inflammatory bowel diseases. Dr. Nichols is an active participant in the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
