Richard M. Roman, M.D.

Dr. Rick Roman was raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame with high honors, he obtained his medical training at Tufts School of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Subsequently, Dr. Roman completed internship and residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at Duke University Medical Center. Prior to joining South Denver Gastroenterology, he served as a member of the Gastroenterology Division Faculty at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center for three years where he participated in teaching, research in gastrointestinal and liver diseases, and patient care. Dr. Roman's special areas of interest include the management of liver and inflammatory bowel diseases, and the development of research initiatives. He is a member of the American Liver Foundation Rocky Mountain Chapter's Advisory Committee. In addition, Dr. Roman served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Swedish Medical Center for four years, and Chairman of Credentials Committee for two years. Currently, he is President of the Medical Staff at Swedish Medical Center.
